Featured Item: Incense Matches
Not many people have heard of incense matches. They're kind of hard to find (especially now!) especially the individual matchbooks, but all the people I've shown them to all love them. So when I saw an opportunity to add them to Yapoma, I was super excited!
So what are incense matches? Pretty much exactly what they sound like! They look light -- and light like -- regular matches. You can let the flame burn out on its own, or blow it out after it goes far enough down the matchstick, like about 1/2 to 3/4 to the bottom. Once it starts to smoke, let it smoke for a few more seconds and then place it in an ashtray or any small plate or other dish you might have that's non-flammable. It'll smoke for another few seconds.
I used to buy these when I was in college at a local music store (which, sadly, is no more!). They were perfect for me and I diligently bought a new pack every couple of weeks or so. I was on a tight budget and driving a really old car that had previously belonged to an older lady who never drove it. The car ALWAYS smelled stale for some reason and as much as I like rolling down my windows for fresh air, let's face it there are always times when you can't do that! So these matches were the perfect solution! I'd light them when I got in my car (or sometimes even at a long red light) and it was the perfect burst of scent without being crazy over-powering. The match part really dispels smells so that, while the fragrance doesn't last as long, it does really get rid of the smell.
Today, I still use these in my car but I've also added them to the bathroom for our stinkier visits there. It's such a simple idea but so awesome! I definitely highly recommend trying out a pack or two :)
